Luxury Interior Design in Dubai
Luxury interior design in Dubai is judged on specification and execution, not on the quality of the renders. We are a senior-led interior design company in Dubai delivering complete interiors for private villas, penthouses, and premium commercial spaces, with more than 340 completed projects since 2022. Concept design, photorealistic 3D visualisation, working drawings, authority approvals, procurement, and installation sit under one contract and one project manager.

A genuinely luxurious interior in Dubai is one where the specification survives close inspection: stone chosen slab by slab rather than by sample tile, joinery built on solid cores with sequenced veneers, services concealed within the drawing instead of boxed in afterwards, and shadow gaps uniform to within 0.5 mm. Provenance and tolerance define the result, not the adjectives used to sell it.
Dubai applies pressures that temperate markets do not. Summer ambient temperatures regularly exceed 45°C; coastal humidity swings sharply between outdoor air and conditioned interiors; and UV load degrades pigments and finishes near full-height glazing. Those three factors decide which timber stays flat, which wall covering holds colour, and which stone resists etching around wet areas. We specify against them at the drawing stage rather than correcting at snagging.
The second marker is control of the gap between design and build. An interior reaches a luxury standard when the installed joinery, lighting positions, and stone joints match the issued drawings dimension for dimension. That requires the same people to own both the specification and the site.
Our Luxury Interior Design Services in Dubai
Our luxury interior design services in Dubai cover the full commission: brief and space planning, concept design, photorealistic 3D visualisation, working drawings and joinery details, MEP coordination, Dubai Municipality and developer approvals, procurement of furniture, lighting, and stone, installation, styling, and handover with the interior finished and in place.
As luxury interior designers in Dubai, every commission we take on is senior-led. The designer who develops the concept supervises it on site, so there is no handover to a junior team once the drawings are signed. Consultation is free, 3D designs are included with any project, and we respond to enquiries within two business hours. We work across residential and premium commercial interiors in Dubai and the wider UAE, including majlis commissions for UAE national and GCC families where the brief calls for cultural fluency rather than decoration.
Our Expertise
Ultra-High-End Materials and Finishes We Specify
The specification decides whether an interior reads as luxurious once it is built. We buy at the slab and batch level, reserve material before drawings are issued, and hold samples against the lighting design rather than against a showroom spotlight.
Natural Stone Selected by Slab
We specify Arabescato and Calacatta Gold from named blocks, with sourcing through Italian quarry suppliers, including Antolini. Slabs are selected individually, and book-matched pairs are reserved before the installation drawing is issued, so the veining sequence shown in the drawing is the sequence that arrives on site. Honed finishes are preferred in wet areas where polished surfaces etch, and a sealing schedule is specified for each stone type at handover.
Engineered Timber Flooring
Solid boards move under Dubai’s humidity differential. We specify Mafi engineered hardwood in herringbone and chevron formats, with a multi-layer core that holds dimensional stability between conditioned interiors and external terraces, and oiled finishes that can be spot-repaired rather than fully resanded.
Bespoke Wall Coverings
Phillip Jeffries grasscloths and textured papers carry acoustic and tactile value in bedrooms and reception rooms. Hand-painted de Gournay panels are specified where a room needs a single commissioned surface, commonly in the majlis and formal dining rooms, with panel layouts set against the joinery setting-out, so seams fall on architectural lines.
Specification summary by material:
- Natural stone: Arabescato, Calacatta Gold, and Antolini slabs, specified in kitchens, bathrooms, and feature walls. Slab-level selection controls veining, and honed finishes resist etching in high-use wet areas.
- Engineered timber: Mafi oak in herringbone and chevron, specified in reception rooms, bedrooms, and circulation. Stable across the humidity swing between conditioned and external air.
- Wall coverings: Phillip Jeffries and de Gournay, specified in bedrooms, dining rooms, and the majlis. Positioned away from direct UV exposure to protect pigment stability.
- Kitchens and joinery: Boffi and bespoke solid-core joinery, specified in kitchens, dressing rooms, and studies. Factory-finished components reduce on-site variation in heat and dust.
- Control systems: KNX, Crestron, and Lutron for lighting, shading, climate, and AV. Shading and lighting scenes manage solar gain on the west and south glazing.

Design
Bespoke Craftsmanship and Quality Assurance
Every joinery item is inspected at the factory before it ships. The inspection covers carcass alignment and squareness, veneer sequencing across adjacent doors and panels, hardware action under load, and finish consistency between production batches, because two units sprayed a week apart can read differently under warm 2700K lighting.
On-site, shadow gaps are set to a uniform tolerance of 0.5 mm. Items that fail inspection are corrected in the workshop rather than adjusted with filler at installation. Snagging is completed and signed off before any furniture, art, or styling is brought in, so final dressing happens against a finished shell rather than concealing outstanding work. Clients receive the snag list and the closed-out version, not a verbal assurance.
Senior-Led Delivery and Approvals Handled In House
Each commission is led by our principal designer, Khalil, who holds an MA in Interior Design and runs the project from brief to handover. The concept designer supervises the site, which prevents specification drift that occurs when a project is handed off to a delivery team that was not in the design meetings. You can review the stage gates in our interior design process.
Approvals are prepared in house. That includes Dubai Municipality (DM) permits for structural, external, and MEP alterations; No Objection Certificates in Emaar-managed communities; Nakheel approvals on Palm Jumeirah; and DEWA coordination for MEP sign-off. Approvals are typically secured within 2 to 4 weeks, reflecting our experience rather than a guarantee, as authority timelines vary by scope. No chargeable site works begin until approvals are in place.
Luxury Design and Fit-Out Under One Contract
Design and delivery sit under a single contract with a single project manager, which is where our model differs from studios that design only and hand the drawings to a separate contractor. Split appointments create specification drift: the contractor values the drawing, substitutes a material due to lead time or margin, and no one with authorship rights is on site to refuse the substitution. When delivery is the priority, our luxury fit-out and turnkey interior solutions pages outline the full construction scope.
Smart Home Integration in Luxury Interiors
We specify KNX, Crestron, and Lutron based on project fit and the client’s service arrangements, not on a commercial partnership. Lighting scenes, motorised shading, climate zoning, and AV are coordinated with the electrical layout at the drawing stage, so that containment and cabling are concealed within joinery and ceiling voids rather than surface-mounted later. Systems are programmed and commissioned before handover, with scenes tested against the finished lighting, as part of our smart home interior design scope.

How to Choose a Luxury Interior Design Company in Dubai
Shortlist on evidence that the finished work matches the renders. Most luxury interior design companies and luxury interior designers in Dubai present strong visuals, so the useful questions are about procurement, supervision, and regulatory competence. The five checks below separate studios that specify luxury from studios that describe it.
- Built proof. Ask to see a finished project photographed as built, set against the original renders. A credible answer is a photograph of the completed interior with the specification named room by room.
- Regulatory competence. Ask who prepares the DM permit and the NOC, and what the timeline is. A credible answer is prepared in-house, typically within 2 to 4 weeks, with no site works prior to approval.
- Site supervision. Ask whether the concept designer is on-site or whether a separate delivery team takes over. A credible answer names the designer who is present through construction and snagging.
- Stone procurement. Ask how stone is selected and when slabs are reserved. A credible answer is selected by slab, with book-matched pairs reserved before the installation drawing is issued.
- Fee scope. Ask whether the fee covers procurement and delivery, or only design. A credible answer is a costed proposal stating exactly which stages and supplies are included.
Regulatory competence is the criterion most often skipped and the one that costs the most time when it is wrong. Our guide to Emaar NOC approval sets out the required documents and the order of approvals. Ask any studio you are considering to walk you through that process from memory.
Our Insights
Residential
Our majlis was the one room in our Dubai Hills villa that felt dated. Kat Black redesigned it with a contemporary Arabic scheme that honours the cultural significance of the space whilst feeling entirely modern. The level of cultural knowledge in their approach was unlike anything we had experienced with a Dubai studio.
UAE national client
Dubai Hills Estate.
Commercial
We appointed Kat Black for our DIFC office, a full Category B fit-out on a demanding 8-week programme. They delivered on time, DEWA-compliant, and the result is a workspace our team is proud of and our clients notice immediately.

Kat Black Design Studio transformed our Sidra villa from a bare handover shell into a home we are genuinely proud of. Their management of the Emaar NOC and DM permit process was seamless, and the 3D renders matched the finished space exactly. We would not consider any other studio for our next project.

Recent Luxury Commissions and Their Specifications
We present projects by specification rather than postcode, because the specification is what transfers to your property. Our 14,000 sq ft villa was delivered with a Boffi kitchen and an infinity pool with a landscaped pool garden coordinated with the interior palette. The Mayfair commission paired bespoke joinery with an Arabescato master bathroom. You can review the full specification and photography of a completed luxury villa project before you brief us.

Luxury Interior Design Dubai: FAQs
How much does luxury interior design in Dubai cost?
A large villa commission at a luxury specification typically falls between AED 900,000 and AED 2,000,000+, covering design, joinery, materials, furniture, and installation. This is indicative and subject to a costed proposal following consultation, since stone selection, joinery volume, and smart systems account for most of the variance. Our breakdown of villa fit-out costs by specification tier sets out the per sqft bands.
What does a full luxury commission cover from brief to handover?
It covers space planning, concept design, photorealistic 3D visualisation, working drawings and joinery details, MEP coordination, DM permits and developer NOC applications, procurement of stone, joinery, furniture, and lighting, site supervision, smart system commissioning, snagging, styling, and handover with the interior complete.
How long does a luxury interior project in Dubai take?
Programme length depends on property size, approval scope, and procurement lead times on imported stone and European joinery, which are usually the critical path rather than site works. Approvals are typically secured within 2 to 4 weeks. We issue a dated programme with the costed proposal.
Do luxury interior projects in Dubai need Emaar NOC or Dubai Municipality approval?
Yes. Structural, external, and MEP alterations require a Dubai Municipality building permit, and properties in Emaar-managed communities require a No Objection Certificate before works begin. Palm Jumeirah properties route through Nakheel, and DIFC tenants follow the DIFC Authority process. We prepare these applications in-house.
Which finishes last longest in Dubai's heat, humidity, and UV?
Engineered timber over solid board, honed stone over polished in wet areas, powder-coated and marine-grade metalwork externally, and UV-stable textiles and wall coverings away from unshaded glazing. Motorised shading specified at the design stage reduces the solar load that most rapidly ages fabrics and timber finishes.
Can an overseas owner commission a luxury interior in Dubai remotely?
Yes. We run remote commissions with photorealistic 3D visualisation at the concept stage, material sample packs shipped or presented via video, and weekly written progress reports with site photography. Approvals, procurement, and installation are handled by us, and clients sign off on each stage before the next begins.
